I was sent to cover the end of the Unilateral Declaration of Independence, known as UDI, by Southern Rhodesia,  as it was then called.

I found it very moving. It is sad how the country, now called Zimbabwe, has declined.

Years later I found some notes that I wrote and tidied them up.

As I said before, I never found a publisher for anything I wrote, expect, that is, for what I wrote for the newspaper.
